Young Algae Researcher Awards'

On September 27th student scientists were awarded with the first Young Algae Researcher Awards’. We are proud to announce that Esteban Hicaple a INGERT MAS BioEnergy fellow in the department of Mechanical Engineering at CSU took a first place prize. Esteban represented CSU with a design of a continuous flow algae harvesting device: Ultrasonic property measurements and finite element analysis.

The awards were presented at the world’s largest gathering of algae industry and academic leaders to recognize outstanding research projects by early=career scientists’ that are finding new ways to use algae to create a range of renewable fule and chemical products, remediate polluted water and consume carbon dioxide.
